Some people with learning difficulties are isolated and vulnerable. They are often unable to speak up for their rights. We're looking for people to speak up for them - ordinary members of the community who can get to know someone with a learning difficulty, and act in their best interest.
You can read about some of the people involved, and the successes they've
had, on our Real
Lives page. Sometimes what they do is a challenge, though it can be fun
too.
We can give you advice, support and information. You can give as much or as
little time as you have - in our experience, even just a couple of hours a
month can make a positive difference to someone's life.
You don't need any qualifications either. People usually say they get as much out of their friendship as the person with learning difficulties.
We work in the county boroughs of Bridgend, Rhondda-Cynon-Taff, Caerphilly and Merthyr. Click the links to find out about your area.
You can also find out more details about our History, as well as looking at more information about what you can do to help.
You could give someone a voice, just by using your ordinary, everyday skills!
